Prof. Dr. Carlos KANINDA MUKENA founded and leads KMC Advice & Partners, advising multinationals, national businesses and SMEs on audit, tax, legal and governance matters across the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central Africa.

Prof. Dr. Carlos KANINDA MUKENA is a chartered and sworn accountant, statutory auditor and tax lawyer with more than thirteen years of experience advising major private enterprises on financial, tax and governance matters. He currently serves as statutory auditor for four private companies, where his work covers the legal review of accounts and the assessment of governance, internal control and compliance frameworks. He founded KMC Advice & Partners in 2019 and has led the firm since, building it around the same disciplines that define his own practice — audit, accounting, tax, governance, compliance and strategic advisory.

His tax practice extends to a portfolio of more than forty clients across industry, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, services, logistics and energy, and he is regularly consulted by international firms on complex tax opinions, cross-border structuring and tax risk management. He currently heads the tax department of a multinational group, with responsibilities spanning compliance, tax litigation and global tax strategy. He previously directed the Compagnie Financière du Congo under an operating licence from the Central Bank of Congo (BCC) for a year and a half, with responsibility for governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and financial oversight.

Chartered accountant, member of the Ordre National des Experts-Comptables du Congo (ONEC) and of the International Fiscal Association (IFA); registered Mandataire en Propriété Industrielle with the Ministry of Industry. He holds an academic appointment as Professeur Associé at the Université Pédagogique Nationale (since 2025) and has previously taught at the Haute École de Commerce de Kinshasa. His research on tax and accounting regulation, management control systems and public-sector governance has appeared in the Pakistan Journal of Life and Social Sciences, the Revue du Contrôle, de la Comptabilité et de l'Audit, and the Pakistan Journal of Criminology, among others.
